about

Mbps is an ode to the very real phenomena of data pollution, specifically vis-a-vis humanity's attempted forays into exploring, colonizing and monetizing space; and a love song to all the lonely radio waves, bounding through the abyss.

Laced throughout the track are samples of RF waves from Earth as interpreted by the ISS, sounds of magnetic waves bouncing off the Earth, and dialogue from early episodes of Doctor Who and I Love Lucy.

lyrics

echolocate through florid space
what you seek is your own face
despotic, toxic transmissions
sinusoidal submissions

megabytes per second, digitize the stars

leeching through magnetic waves
ghosts entombed in sonic graves
crude, unrefined data converts
megalomaniac hertz

megabytes per second, digitize the stars

colonize, colonize, colonize

megabytes per second, digitize the stars

echolocate through florid space
what you seek is your own face
despotic, toxic transmissions
sinusoidal submissions
